Maria Fareri Children's Hospital is a 146 bed advanced treatment facility, annually treating roughly 30,000 children from infancy to 21 years of age. It is home to the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center from Manhattan to Syracuse, NY to New Haven, CT, and is the only hospital in the United States that was named after a child.

The Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy Team is dedicated to ensuring that every child's stay is as centered on normal childhood experiences as possible, using toys, music, and entertainment to keep their minds off of their medical situation, and even using Fisher Price Medical Kits to explain to the children about the procedures or treatments the staff will be performing.

There are no communal toys at MFCH - Every toy a child receives is theirs to keep.
(The hospital averages over 150 decks of Uno Cards gifted to patients per month alone.)
